BJIH was founded as a co-ed recreational inline hockey club for the local youth. When Beaudesert Rollerdome owner Steven Johnson opened the rink one of his dreams was to create a space where the local youth could be entertained and enjoy themselves in a safe and positive atmosphere. While hockey is just one of the many activities on offer at the Dome, it's one that Steven is particularily passionate about and as such alot of work has been put into creating a great group for the kids. Most of the equipment needed is provided including padding, helmets, sticks and pucks. And thanks to the generosity of one of our fabulous parents, fantastic new goal posts. Kids are encouraged to purchase their own blades, however they are also available for hire. Safety measures are put into place to protect the kids, from the personal safety equipment to the hockey nets to safeguard against the odd stray puck. And a very experienced former player is onboard to coach the kids not only learn to skate properly but also to excel at the sport.
Training sessions are currently run once a week on Wednesday's. 5:30 pm to 7pm, with skater's to be geared up and on the floor at 6pm sharp !.
If you would like to volunteer time or anything else towards the team please see Steve at the Dome. This is a great program to get behind for the kids !.
If you are interested in purchasing skates please ask any of the friendly team at the Dome for assistance with that and any of your other skate needs. We have a great range at awesome prices.
